1. Pouring Semolina - Take two small jugs or bowls filled with semolina. Show your child how to pour the contents from one to the other slowly and carefully, trying not to spill. This will help them develop focus and control. For extra fun, add colorful spoons to encourage them to pour with different movements, and you can also suggest a timed game: "How much semolina can you pour without spilling in 10 seconds?"
2. Pouring with water - Repeat the exercise, but this time with water. Set out different sized cups or bowls and demonstrate how to pour the water carefully. You can add a drop of harmless food coloring for a more fun visual effect. Have the child try pouring into a narrow funnel or through a small mesh to increase the difficulty and interest.
3. Spoon for carrying - Now give your child a tablespoon or teaspoon and encourage them to carry the water from one cup to another. This requires more control and is great for improving motor skills. For a bigger challenge, they can try carrying small balls, such as semolina or corn kernels, with the spoon without dropping them.
4. Color mixing and blending - You can add different colors of water to several small cups. Let the child mix and blend different colors to see what they get. This is a great opportunity for a mini experiment and even to discuss basic color combinations.
